Breeding Range of the Western Monarch

Description:

This is a poster design done as a personal project, illustrating seasonal shifts in the range of the western population of monarch Butterflies (Danaus plexippus) within my home state of California. The illustration of an adult monarch butterfly and the map of California were done traditionally, and the legend was done digitally. The information shown in this poster was sourced from the Xerces Society.

As shown in the legend, the overwintering range is represented by light blue, the spring range is represented by light green, and the summer range is represented by golden yellow.
