Description:

This Interpretive Panel was done for a hypothetical project to raise awareness about the ecological impact of invasive species in California’s urban spaces. the depicted invasive species are the Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) which attack native species of waterbirds like the Cinnamon Teal (Spatula cyanoptera) mating pair illustrated here, Red-eared Sliders (Trachemys scripta elegans) which compete for space and food with native pond sliders, and Alligator Weed (Alternanthera philoxeroides) which can choke out native aquatic plants.
