Wading Birds in a Pond
Description:
This digital illustration shows three native North American species of wading birds: a Great Blue Heron, as well as a Spotted Sandpiper and a Common Gallinule in breeding plumage. All three birds are standing in shallow water with a thick curtain of Broadleaf Cattail behind them, and they are roughly in scale with each other to make comparison and identification easier.
I made this illustration for an interpretive panel, which was part of a project I did for the City of Novato. Click here to see the full composition.
