Description:
This digitally illustrated composition is one of 8 panels I designed and illustrated for the City of Novato’s Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Novato Rotary Club. All 8 signs were installed around Scottsdale Pond, near Novato’s downtown.
This sign depicts five species of waterbirds that are native to Western North America and can commonly be found in urban and neighborhood waterways: a Double-crested Cormorant (non-breeding plumage), a Canada Goose, an American Coot (with breeding coloration on its face shield), a Pied-billed Grebe, and a male/female pair of Mallards.
