Water Birds Swimming in a Pond

Description:

This digital illustration shows five species of native Western North American birds that can commonly be found swimming in waterways surrounded by human habitation. All five species - Double-crested Cormorant, Pied-billed Grebe, American Coot, Canada Goose, and Mallard - are depicted in a full lateral view with a head-up posture to make identification markers like coloration and silhouette more apparent.

I made this illustration for an interpretive panel, which was part of a project I did for the City of Novato. Click here to see the full composition.
